Betty Wright (1953–2020) was an American soul and R&B singer from Miami, Florida. She began her recording career as a teenager and became known for her powerful voice and emotionally charged performances. Her 1971 single "Clean Up Woman" reached the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 and became her signature song. Over the following decades she released several albums, wrote and produced for other artists, and remained an influential figure in soul music.
