HIM is a Finnish rock band formed in Helsinki in 1991. The group is known for blending gothic rock and gothic metal elements, creating a distinctive sound often described as "love metal." Their music features melodic guitar work, atmospheric production, and themes centered around love, loss, and the supernatural. Led by vocalist Ville Valo, HIM achieved international success with albums like "Razorblade Romance" and "Love Metal," becoming one of Finland's most successful musical exports. The band announced their disbandment in 2017 after a farewell tour, leaving behind a catalog that influenced the gothic rock and metal scenes.
