Bio
No I.D. is a Chicago-based producer and songwriter who emerged in the early 1990s. He first gained recognition for his work with Common, producing the majority of the rapper’s 1994 debut album Resurrection. Over the following decades he has crafted beats for artists including Jay-Z, Kanye West, Rihanna, and J. Cole, often blending soulful samples with crisp, modern drum programming. Beyond production, No I.D. has held influential A&R and executive roles at labels such as Def Jam and Roc Nation, helping shape projects for artists like Big Sean and Logic. His understated, sample-driven style and long-standing ties to Chicago’s hip-hop community have made him a respected behind-the-scenes figure in contemporary music.
