Foghat is a British rock band formed in London in 1971. The group emerged from the remnants of Savoy Brown, with guitarist Dave Peverett, drummer Roger Earl, and bassist Tony Stevens leaving to pursue a new project. They were later joined by guitarist Rod Price, establishing the classic lineup that would define their sound. The band became known for their blues-based hard rock style, achieving commercial success in the 1970s with hits like "Slow Ride" and "Fool for the City." Their music combined elements of classic rock and southern rock, characterized by Peverett's distinctive vocals and Price's slide guitar work. Foghat maintained a strong presence on the touring circuit throughout their career, with various lineup changes occurring over the decades.
