Billy Squier is an American rock musician who rose to prominence in the early 1980s with a string of arena-rock hits. His 1982 album "Don't Say No" spawned the enduring classic-rock staples "The Stroke" and "In the Dark," establishing him as a key figure in the AOR scene. Squier continued releasing albums throughout the decade, blending hard-rock riffs with radio-friendly hooks that kept him on the charts and in heavy rotation on MTV.
