Citizen Cope is an American singer-songwriter and producer born Clarence Greenwood on May 20, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee. He is known for blending elements of blues, rock, hip-hop, and folk into a distinctive sound often described as alternative soul. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has released several albums including the self-titled Citizen Cope (2002), The Clarence Greenwood Recordings (2004), and the later works One Lovely Day (2012) and Heroin and Helicopters (2015). His songs have been covered by artists such as Carlos Santana and featured in film and television soundtracks.
