Collegium Vocale 1704 is a Czech early-music ensemble founded in Prague in 2005 by conductor Václav Luks. The group comprises both an orchestra and a choir that specialize in historically informed performances of Baroque repertoire, with a particular focus on the works of Jan Dismas Zelenka and other Central-European composers of the 17th and 18th centuries. The ensemble performs regularly at major European festivals and has recorded extensively for labels such as Accent and Supraphon. Its members use period instruments and vocal techniques to present repertoire ranging from large-scale oratorios to intimate chamber works, contributing to the revival of Czech and Bohemian Baroque music on the international stage.
