Matthieu Chedid, known professionally as -M-, is a French singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born in Boulogne-Billancourt in 1971. He is the son of French singer Louis Chedid and grandson of poet Andrée Chedid. Chedid first gained recognition in the 1990s with his distinctive guitar style and energetic performances, releasing his debut album under the -M- moniker in 1997. His music blends chanson, French pop, and electronic influences, often characterized by playful lyrics and theatrical stage presence.
