Bio
Pedro Infante (1917–1957) was one of the most beloved figures in 20th-century Mexican popular music and cinema. A native of Sinaloa, he rose to fame in the 1940s with his warm tenor voice and charismatic screen presence, becoming the quintessential leading man of the Golden Age of Mexican film. His recordings of boleros, rancheras, and mariachi standards such as “Amorcito Corazón,” “Cien Años,” and “El Durazno” remain radio staples across Latin America. Beyond his musical legacy, Infante embodied the aspirations of working-class Mexico, and his untimely death in a plane crash only deepened his mythic status. Today he is remembered as an icon whose blend of heartfelt singing and everyman charm helped define música mexicana for generations.
