Bio

Roger Waters is an English musician, singer-songwriter, and composer best known as the bassist, co-lead vocalist, and primary lyricist of the progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Born George Roger Waters on 6 September 1943 in Great Bookham, Surrey, he co-founded Pink Floyd in 1965 and became the band's principal songwriter following the departure of Syd Barrett. Waters wrote the majority of the lyrics for landmark albums such as The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall, shaping the band's conceptual and thematic direction. After leaving Pink Floyd in 1985, he pursued a solo career, releasing albums including The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking and Amused to Death, and has continued to perform and record both solo and with reconfigured line-ups of Pink Floyd.
