William Youn

Bio

William Youn is a German pianist born in Seoul in 1982. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and the Mozarteum Salzburg, later refining his craft with teachers such as Michael Schäfer and Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. Youn has appeared as soloist with orchestras including the Munich Philharmonic, the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie, and the Staatskapelle Weimar, and has performed at venues such as the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Philharmonie de Paris. His repertoire spans the Classical and Romantic eras, with a particular focus on the works of Mozart, Schubert, and Schumann. In addition to his concert career, Youn records for the Sony Classical label and maintains an active teaching schedule, giving masterclasses throughout Europe and Asia.
