Oum (born Oum el Ghaït Benessahraoui on 18 April 1978 in Casablanca, Morocco) is a Moroccan singer-songwriter known for blending traditional Gnawa music with contemporary Moroccan pop. She began her career in the early 2000s and has become one of the leading voices in modern Moroccan music, performing internationally and collaborating with artists across North Africa and Europe.
