Bio
The Stranglers are an English rock band formed in 1974 in Guildford, Surrey. Emerging from the punk scene, they quickly distinguished themselves with a darker, more experimental sound that incorporated elements of new wave and proto-punk. Their early albums, such as Rattus Norvegicus and No More Heroes, established them as one of the most enduring acts of the era. Over five decades, the band has released numerous albums and maintained a loyal following, known for their literate lyrics, driving bass lines, and keyboard textures. Despite numerous lineup changes, The Stranglers continue to tour and record, remaining a significant influence on subsequent generations of rock and alternative musicians.
