Everlast is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter born Erik Schrody on August 18, 1969, in Valley Stream, New York. He first gained recognition in the late 1980s as a member of the hip-hop group House of Pain, best known for the hit single "Jump Around." After the group disbanded, he launched a solo career that blended hip-hop with blues, rock, and folk influences. His 1998 solo album Whitey Ford Sings the Blues marked a significant stylistic shift and included the Grammy-winning single "What It's Like." Everlast has continued to release music across genres, often exploring themes of struggle, redemption, and personal reflection throughout his work.
