Gabrielle Aplin is an English singer-songwriter born in Bath, England, on 10 October 1992. She first gained attention through acoustic covers uploaded to YouTube, most notably her version of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s “The Power of Love,” which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in 2012. Her debut album, English Rain (2013), entered the UK Albums Chart at number two and spawned further hits such as “Please Don’t Say You Love Me.” Subsequent releases, including the albums Light Up the Dark (2015) and Dear Happy (2020), showcase her blend of folk-pop and indie sensibilities.
