JoJo is an American singer and actress born on December 20, 1990, in Brattleboro, Vermont. She rose to prominence in the mid-2000s with her debut single "Leave (Get Out)," which reached number one on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart, making her the youngest solo artist to achieve that feat. Her self-titled debut album, released in 2004, was certified platinum and showcased her powerful vocal range and R&B/pop style. After a period of label disputes that delayed her follow-up projects, JoJo returned with her second studio album, "The High Road," in 2006.
