Bio

Escala is a British string quartet formed in London in 2008. The group consists of violinists Victoria Lyon and Honor Watson, violist Rosie Biss, and cellist Amy Stanford. They are known for their classical crossover style, performing arrangements of popular music alongside classical repertoire. The ensemble gained prominence after appearing on the second series of Britain's Got Talent in 2008, where they reached the final. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2009 and reached the top five of the UK Albums Chart. Escala has since released additional albums and performed at venues across the United Kingdom and internationally.
