Bio
Edward Gardner is a British conductor born in Gloucester in 1974. He studied at the University of Cambridge and the Royal Academy of Music before beginning his career as a répétiteur at the Salzburg Festival. Gardner served as Music Director of English National Opera from 2007 to 2015 and has held principal guest conductor positions with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. He is noted for his work in opera and orchestral repertoire, particularly contemporary British music and 20th-century works.
