Bio

Suba (born Mitar Subotić, 23 June 1961 – 2 March 1999) was a Serbian-born composer, musician and producer who became a central figure in Brazil’s electronic and experimental music scenes after relocating to São Paulo in the early 1990s. Working under the single name Suba, he fused intricate sampling, acoustic instrumentation and Brazilian rhythms, most notably on his influential 1996 album São Paulo Confessions, which remains a touchstone for Brazilian electronic music. His production and engineering credits include work with artists such as João Donato, Edgard Scandurra and Cibelle, and his early death in a studio fire cut short a career that bridged continents and genres.
