Bio
The Band was a Canadian-American rock group formed in Toronto in 1960. Originally the backing musicians for Ronnie Hawkins and later Bob Dylan, they became a headline act in their own right with the 1968 album Music from Big Pink. Their music blended rock, folk, country, and R&B, and they are widely regarded as pioneers of the Americana and roots-rock genres. The classic lineup consisted of Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel, and Robbie Robertson.
