Bio
Charmian Carr was an American actress and singer best known for her role as Liesl von Trapp in the 1965 film The Sound of Music. Born Charmian Anne Farnon in Chicago, she began her career in entertainment after being cast in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical film at age 21. After The Sound of Music, Carr appeared in a handful of television productions and stage musicals before retiring from acting in the early 1970s. She later worked as a real-estate agent and interior designer, occasionally returning to public life for Sound of Music reunions and interviews.
