Bio

Françoise Hardy was a French singer-songwriter who rose to prominence in the 1960s yé-yé movement. Born in Paris in 1944, she became one of the leading figures of French pop music with her distinctive voice and introspective style. Her debut single "Tous les garçons et les filles" (1962) brought her international recognition. Throughout her career, Hardy recorded over thirty albums spanning chanson, French pop, and jazz influences. She also worked as an actress and model, appearing in films and fashion campaigns. Her songwriting often explored themes of love, melancholy, and personal reflection. Hardy remained active in music until later in life, releasing her final album in 2018. She passed away in 2024, leaving a lasting legacy as one of France's most influential and beloved musical artists.
