Juan Luis Guerra is a Dominican singer, songwriter, and producer born in Santo Domingo. He leads the band Juan Luis Guerra y 440, which blends merengue, bachata, salsa, and tropical rhythms with pop and jazz influences. Since the late 1980s he has released numerous albums, won multiple Latin Grammy and Grammy awards, and become one of the most influential figures in modern Latin music.
