Crystal Waters is an American singer and songwriter born in Philadelphia in 1961. She rose to prominence in the early 1990s with the house music hit "Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)," which reached the top of the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and became a worldwide success. Waters continued releasing dance-oriented singles throughout the decade, including "100% Pure Love," which also topped the dance charts. Her work is characterized by soulful vocals and socially conscious lyrics set against house and garage rhythms. Beyond performing, Waters has contributed as a songwriter for other artists and remains active in the dance music community.
