Peter Cornelius (born 29 January 1951 in Vienna) is an Austrian singer and guitarist who rose to prominence in the early 1980s with his blend of schlager and neue deutsche welle. His breakthrough single "Du entschuldige – i kenn' di" became a major hit across German-speaking Europe, establishing him as a leading figure in the Austrian pop scene. Throughout his career, Cornelius has released numerous albums that combine catchy melodies with German-language lyrics, appealing to both pop and party audiences. He continues to perform live and remains a recognizable name in the schlager genre.
