Bio
The Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, also known as the Münchner Philharmoniker, is one of Germany’s leading symphony orchestras. Founded in 1893, it is based in Munich and performs a wide repertoire that spans the classical canon, opera, and contemporary orchestral works. The ensemble has collaborated with many of the world’s most distinguished conductors and soloists and maintains an active recording schedule. Its home venue is the Gasteig Philharmonic Hall, where it presents its main subscription series and special projects.
