Chihei Hatakeyama is a Japanese ambient musician born in Fujisawa in 1978. Working primarily with guitar, field recordings, and digital processing, he crafts slow-moving, atmospheric soundscapes that blend drone, space music, and environmental textures. Since the mid-2000s he has released numerous albums on labels such as Room40, Home Normal, and his own label, Chihei Hatakeyama, establishing himself as a key figure in contemporary ambient music.
