Bio
The Boys Choir of Harlem was founded in 1968 in Manhattan, New York, by Dr. Walter Turnbull as an after-school program for boys from Harlem. The ensemble quickly grew into a world-renowned choral group, performing a wide repertoire that included classical, spirituals, and contemporary works. Known for its disciplined training and powerful sound, the choir toured internationally and collaborated with major orchestras and artists. The organization ceased operations in 2007 following financial difficulties.
