Lights (born Valerie Anne Poxleitner on April 11, 1987) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician known for her blend of indie pop, electropop, and synth-pop. Born in Timmins, Ontario, she began her career in the mid-2000s, releasing her debut album The Listening in 2009, which featured the hit single "Ice." Her music often incorporates electronic elements with acoustic instrumentation, and she has maintained a consistent presence in the Canadian music scene.
