Bio

The Georgia Satellites were an American Southern rock band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1980. The group gained mainstream recognition in the mid-1980s with their blues-infused hard-rock sound and the hit single "Keep Your Hands to Yourself," which reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Led by singer-guitarist Dan Baird, the classic lineup also featured guitarist Rick Richards, bassist Keith Christopher, and drummer Mauro Magellan. Their self-titled 1986 debut album showcased a mix of original material and covers, establishing the band’s reputation for rowdy, bar-room rock. After several personnel changes and two more studio albums, the original configuration disbanded in 1990. Sporadic reunions followed, but the group effectively ceased activity by the late 1990s.
