Bio

Patrice Rushen is an American singer, songwriter, pianist, and producer known for her influential work in disco, funk, and jazz-funk. She first gained recognition in the 1970s as a keyboardist and vocalist, releasing a series of albums that blended soulful vocals with sophisticated arrangements. Her 1982 single "Forget Me Nots" became a major hit and remains one of the most sampled tracks in popular music. Throughout her career, Rushen has also worked extensively as a composer and arranger for film and television, and she has served as a musical director for major award shows.
