Ramón Bautista Ortega (born March 8, 1941) is an Argentine singer, actor, record producer, film director, and politician. He rose to fame in the 1960s as a teen idol, releasing numerous hit singles and albums that helped define the era’s pop and rock scene in Latin America. Over the following decades he expanded into film and television, appearing in and directing several motion pictures while continuing to record music. In later years he also served in public office, representing the province of Tucumán in Argentina’s Chamber of Deputies.
