Bio
Calle 13 is a Puerto Rican alternative-rap group formed in 2004 by step-brothers René Pérez Joglar (Residente) and Eduardo José Cabra Martínez (Visitante). The band quickly gained attention for its eclectic mix of reggaeton, hip-hop, salsa, and rock, paired with politically charged and socially conscious lyrics. Over the course of six studio albums, Calle 13 became one of Latin America’s most influential and critically acclaimed acts, known for its genre-defying sound and outspoken commentary on issues ranging from colonialism to inequality.
