Bio
Boards of Canada are a Scottish electronic music duo formed in 1986 by brothers Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin, based in the Pentland Hills near Edinburgh. Their work is characterized by nostalgic, heavily processed samples, warm analog textures, and themes drawn from childhood, nature, and 1970s educational films. The duo gained international recognition with releases on the Warp label, including the albums Music Has the Right to Children (1998) and Geogaddi (2002). Their music blends ambient, downtempo, IDM, and trip-hop elements, creating a distinctive cinematic atmosphere that has influenced numerous artists in electronic music.
