Bio
Gangsta Boo, born Lola Mitchell on August 7, 1979, in Memphis, Tennessee, was an influential American rapper and a pioneering figure in Southern hip hop. She rose to prominence as the first female member of the Memphis-based group Three 6 Mafia, contributing to their breakthrough albums and helping define the crunk and horrorcore subgenres. Known for her sharp lyricism and distinctive delivery, she released her debut solo album Enquiring Minds in 1998, followed by Both Worlds *69 in 2001. After leaving Three 6 Mafia in the early 2000s, she continued releasing independent projects and collaborated with artists across hip hop. Gangsta Boo passed away on January 1, 2023, leaving a lasting legacy as one of the most respected voices in Southern rap.
