Bio
Shad is a Canadian rapper and broadcaster from London, Ontario. He first gained attention with his 2005 debut album When This Is Over and broke through with 2007’s The Old Prince, which earned a Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year. Known for witty, introspective lyricism and eclectic production, he blends hip hop with jazz, soul, and indie influences. Subsequent releases include TSOL (2010), Flying Colours (2013), and the 2018 EP A Short Story About a War. He has collaborated with artists such as Skratch Bastid, K-OS, and Saukrates, and hosted the CBC Radio series Hip-Hop Evolution. Shad also serves as a Juno host and university lecturer.
