Bio
Samara Joy is an American jazz singer born in The Bronx, New York, in 1999. She rose to prominence after winning the 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition and has since become one of the leading voices in contemporary vocal jazz. Her self-titled debut album, released in 2021, showcased her rich tone and interpretive skill on both standards and original material. Joy’s follow-up, Linger Awhile (2022), earned critical acclaim and won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album. Known for her warm timbre, precise phrasing, and deep connection to the Great American Songbook, she continues to perform internationally and is widely regarded as a leading figure in the current jazz vocal scene.
