Bio

Zapp is an American funk band formed in Dayton, Ohio in 1978. The group, led by brothers Roger and Lester Troutman, became known for their distinctive use of the talk box and their blend of funk, post-disco, and early electro-funk sounds. Their self-titled debut album in 1980 featured the hit single "More Bounce to the Ounce," which helped establish their signature style. The band achieved commercial success throughout the 1980s with albums like "Zapp II" and "Zapp III," and their music influenced later hip-hop and R&B artists. Following the death of Roger Troutman in 1999, the band ceased activity.
