C. Ashwath (29 December 1936 – 29 December 2009) was an Indian playback singer and composer who worked primarily in the Kannada film industry. Born in Karnataka, he became one of the most prominent voices in Sandalwood music, lending his voice to numerous hit songs across several decades. His repertoire spanned both film soundtracks and devotional music, and he was known for his distinctive baritone and emotive delivery. Ashwath collaborated with many leading composers and actors of his time, contributing to the golden era of Kannada cinema music.
